Round Grain Table in Novosibirsk On November 24, Ecoline visited the XV Round Grain Table, which was held in Novosibirsk at the Marins Park Hotel and was dedicated to the record grain harvest in the territory of the Russian Federation for 2016-2017.
Due to the explosive growth of the wheat harvest, the gross harvest of all classes increased, including for wheat of class 3, which was extremely low in 2016 – from 16.3 to 19.9 million tons, which is a normal value for previous years.
According to experts, the potential for grain exports in the 2017/18 season will be at least 44 million tons against 35.5 million tons in 2016/17, and taking into account peas and flour – 45.5 million tons.
According to the results of July-November 2017, exports of about 21.99 million tons are expected, which is 27% higher than in July-October 2016. Including wheat – 17.06 million tons (+27%), barley - 3.1 million tons (1.94 times higher), corn – 1.67 million tons (12% lower).
In July-October 2017/18, a record volume of grain for export for this period was transported by rail – 4.9 million tons, which is 49% more than in July-October 2016/17 (3, 28 million tons). The Volga and central regions (Moscow and Southern Railway) send a record large amount of grain for export.
Record shipments for export of railway in July – October 2017 were also carried out in the Volgograd, Saratov, Rostov, Kursk, Voronezh, Tambov, Orenburg and Oryol regions. At the same time, export by rail from the Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories is significantly higher than in 2016, but is inferior to the level of 2015.
By the end of the 2017/18 season, with total exports of about 45.5 million tons (including flour and peas), stocks could reach a record level of 26.9 million tons against 18.8 million tons at the end of the 2016/17 season.
