KazGrain-2018 On March 16, the capital of Kazakhstan hosted the International Grain Conference "KazGrain 2018", which was held at the Radisson Hotel Astana.

This time, the topic of diversification of acreage and reduction of sowing of grain crops in favor of oilseeds was put on the agenda. It is worth emphasizing that Kazakhstan is among the top world exporters and producers of wheat – in 2017-2018, its harvest amounted to almost 14 million tons. Also, in recent years, there has been a positive trend in grain processing.

According to preliminary estimates of experts, flour production may amount to 4 million tons, and the export potential of wheat flour in terms of grain is 7.2 million tons. But despite the positive statistics on the market, it is impossible not to pay attention to a number of constraining factors that negatively affect the market. These factors include difficulties with logistics and the presence of a worthy competitor in Russia, which has its own developed port infrastructure.

Nevertheless, compared to its Black Sea neighbors, Kazakhstan has a huge potential for the production of organic products.
