Exports via the railway network are increasing due to an increase in the shipment of timber and coal

According to the index-IPEM study, the main categories for which there is an increase in shipments for export to the railway network are iron and manganese ores (+4.1% in June 2016, +5.2% since the beginning of the year), timber cargoes (+15,1%, +9,9%), coal (+9.1%, +7.6%), non-ferrous metals (+4,7%, +6,3% ), ferrous metals (+9,9%, +1,5%).

The main categories for which there is a drop: cement (-37.4% in June 2016, -46.1% since the beginning of the year). According to the analysis carried out by IPEM specialists, in the near future it is possible to reduce the export supplies of chemical and mineral fertilizers to the railway network (-4.7% in June 2016, +0.5% since the beginning of the year) and non-ferrous ore (-14.2%, +13.5%).

According to experts, in the near future it is possible to restore the export supplies of construction goods (+0.8% in June 2016, -9.2% since the beginning of the year) and ferrous scrap (+13.6%, -20.3%).

However, according to experts, the effect of the devaluation of the ruble, which helped Russian manufacturers to increase exports over the past 12 months, has ceased to have a significant impact against the background of the gradual strengthening of the ruble and in the future the positive dynamics may slow down.
