"The program is aimed at forming a comprehensive development of the entire industry, we intend to support investment projects for the modernization and expansion of capacities for the production of large car casting, as well as joint projects with foreign manufacturers of railway equipment," the head of the Cabinet of Ministers said at a meeting of the import substitution commission, TASS reports.
In his opinion, these actions "will increase the level of safety of railway transportation, freight first of all, the production capacities of enterprises will be optimized, the fleet of railway trains will be updated." In addition, according to the Prime Minister, Russia "will be able to promote the products of domestic transport engineering for export."
"A good foundation has already been created here - according to the results of 10 months of last year, exports in the industry increased by almost 53 percent, this is a good result," Medvedev estimated. Nevertheless, he believes that "this indicator also needs to be improved."
"At the next industry meeting, we will discuss the implementation of this program for the development of transport engineering in general," the Prime minister said.
