The grain has gone into growth. In the first three months of 2016, the volume of grain cargo loading increased by almost 8% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 4.9 million tons. Industry analysts predict further export growth, as world grain prices remain high. In addition, due to the devaluation of the ruble, traditional competitors in the world market lose in the cost of products.

In this regard, the Government is considering the issue of zeroing the export duty on wheat. Recall that the main increase in exports occurred to Egypt, which remains the largest consumer of Russian grain. Russia and Japan will soon begin negotiations on increasing the supply of Russian grain. Currently, despite the fact that Japan buys more than 6 million tons of food grain, Russia's share in Japanese grain imports is less than 1%.

Representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor also drew attention to the possibility of supplying feed grain to the Japanese market, the need for which is at least 15 million tons per year. According to experts, including from the US Department of Agriculture, the total volume of grain exports in 2015/16 will reach 33.0-33.5 million tons, including 23.0-23.5 million tons of wheat, which makes Russia the second largest wheat exporter after the European Union.

"Thus, it is predicted that the current high level of grain cargo transportation and a large export potential will remain due to favorable conditions for Russian producers on the world market," the United Wagon Company says.
